Companies are now being fined for their foreign employees / Generalniy Director
Amendments to Federal Law No. 115-FZ “On the legal status of foreign citizens in Russia” dated 25 July 2002 have been in effect since 16 January 2019. According to the new rules, employers will be responsible for the actions of foreign employees for whom they have formalized job invitations. A company should make sure that a foreigner has complied with the purpose of his/her entry into Russia and has promptly left Russia once the permitted period was over. A fine of RUB 400,000 to 500,000 and of RUB 45,000 to 50,000 can be imposed on the company and its CEO respectively for a failure to perform these obligations.
