International conference – Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

On April 11-12, 2019, the 3rd international conference “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights” was held in St. Petersburg. The actual Russian and foreign practice was presented at the conference. Leading experts from the USA, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, China and Russia shared their experience and effective strategies for intellectual property protection.

The conference program was designed for two days of intensive, contained more than 8 sessions and 30 reports, including: “Working with personal data in the digital world”, “GDPR”, “Digital marketing: new challenges for IP lawyers”, “Issues of differentiation of intellectual property rights in the work of artificial intelligence”, “Automation of accounting and management of intellectual rights of the company”, “Patents in the field of information technology”, “Practice of recognition of pharmaceutical patents invalid: aspects and factors affecting the success”, “Legal ways to combat unfair competition” and many others.

Aleksei Gribanov, Head of Intellectual Property and TMT at Borenius Russia, shared with the guests of the conference a review of the first cases of bringing to responsibility for violations of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) entered into force less than a year ago.
