Borenius Russia has significantly improved its positions in the ranking Chambers Europe 2020

The international ratings directory Chambers & Partners has published the results of its annual survey of the European legal market. This year, two partners, Anna Zabrotskaya, Head of our Dispute Resolution Practice, and Alexey Nikitin, Head of the Transactions and Corporate Law Practice, have joined the list of Borenius lawyers to have been praised by Chambers Europe.

Alexey Nikitin has over 14 years of experience of advising Russian and international companies on M&A transactions, including on due diligence and antitrust compliance, as well as on corporate law issues and various projects involving the setting up, sale and winding up of businesses in Russia. Alexey has invariably been recommended by The Best Lawyers since 2016. Over the last two years, he has received such accolades as being named among the ‘Next Generation Partners’ and ‘Highly Regarded’ lawyers by international rankings complied by The Legal 500 and IFLR1000.

Anna Zabrotskaya has over 10 years of experience of representing Russian and international companies in courts of all levels in Russia, as well as of advising our clients on various aspects of civil and commercial proceedings. Anna has been recommended by The Best Lawyers ratings agency in the ‘Bankruptcy and Reorganization’ and ‘Arbitration and Mediation’ categories.

Based on the survey results, Borenius has a firm grip on a place in the second tier in commercial law, while Managing Partner Andrey Gusev once again features in the first tier. He has now preserved this position for a decade, with Chambers & Partners describing him as a top-notch specialist who, according to his clients, “is very experienced and erudite”. Artem Zhavoronkov, a Partner in the Transactions and Corporate Law Practice, has been mentioned in the third tier in the ‘commercial law’ category. Clients regard his advice as very precise, practical and timely.

Our Dispute Resolution Practice has been placed in tier two, with the Practice’s attorneys Lyubov Erigo and Irina Selezneva preserving their positions in this area. In their feedback, our clients note Lyubov’s and Irina’s vast experience and their keen eye for detail, as well as the overall creative and systemic approach of the Practice to its projects.
