A contractor was unable to recover almost RUB 150 million of damage from the directorate of the Ministry of Culture / Delovoy Peterburg
Meandr was unable to recover almost RUB 150 million of damage from the North-Western Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, which the former claims to have sustained when it renovated the Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
The company is a major player on the restoration and construction market. It has been engaged in projects on the SPB Exchange, the Clock Tower in Vyborg and the Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. Yet, not all of its projects have been a success: Meandr is party to a number of commercial court proceedings initiated by its customers.
Artyom Berlin, a Senior Associate in our Transactions & Corporate Law Practice, shared his opinion with business newspaper Delovoy Peterburg that such lawsuits often reveal unearned advances of the contractor.
