What Belarusian business needs to know in the new sanctions reality / On-line conference
On 17 March, REVERA Law Firm of Minsk, Belarus together with the Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University held an online conference. The speakers at the conference were experts in the field of sanctions compliance in Russia, Ukraine and Belgium. Practicing lawyers, heads of compliance departments, consultants, students from the Faculties of Law and International Relations, and anyone else interested in this topic were invited to participate in the conference.
Artem Zhavoronkov, a Partner at Borenius Russia, gave a brief overview of the US sanctions, spoke about the latest trends in sanctions as well as gave a number of tips on sanctions practice.
Among the topics during the conference that the participants also discussed were possible ways to minimize western sanctions, the features of protective clauses in contracts with financial organizations, the impact of sanctions risks on business, the imposition of economic sanctions of the EU and the UK, and other topics.
The final of the online competition of students’ debates was held at the end of the conference. The main partner of the competition was the Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University.
