The number of bankruptcy claims did not snowball at the beginning of 2021, but experts say it could still happen for a number of industries.

Russia ended its moratorium on bankruptcy on 8 January 2021. Contrary to expectations, the number of claims rose slightly. The RBC + Petersburg publication discusses the outcome of lifting the moratorium, which industries and companies are still at risk, what changes were made to the bankruptcy laws this year, and what changes are planned under a new bill and its alternative versions.

Andrey Bezhan, Counsel at Borenius Russia, commented on a number of changes that have occurred in the field of bankruptcy practice in Russia since the beginning of 2021.
